FULL-TIME POSITIONS

NATIONAL SALES MANAGER
Immediate opportunity for an experienced, energetic sales manager that can consistently generate new business and maintain current clients through supervising, leading and motivating to join our advertising department. Successful candidates will possess excellent leadership skills and a proven track record for achieving desired results. Outside sales experience in print advertising field, agency or national accounts is highly desirable. A bachelor's degree in a related field and at least five years of experience in sales and management is required.

SALES DEVELOPMENT
Substantial income potential!! Develop new business and help business owners to get the most from their advertising dollars. Our large mix of advertising products gives the aggressive Sales Executive the right tools to provide customers with targeted or total market coverage advertising. An Associate's degree and a minimum of two years of sales experience or equivalent required. Must possess professional communication skills and be highly motivated. SPECIALTY PUBLICATIONS
Yes, magazines! Successful candidates will possess outside sales experience selling into new or established magazines. We're looking for energetic, hard-working individuals who can quickly establish rapport with clients, present ideas well, have a proven ability to close sales, and like a great deal of variety. INTERNET/ONLINE ADVERTISING
We're not just paper and ink anymore! Bring in new revenue through the sales of various on-line products such as banner ads and sponsorships. Work extensively with the print sales staff to build awareness of the newspapers' websites both internally and through our print clientele. Internet sales experience is preferred. An Associate's degree and a minimum of two years of sales experience or equivalent required. Must possess professional communication skills and be highly motivated. Use of a personal vehicle, a valid Michigan driver's license and state-mandated insurance is required.

ACCOUNTING MANAGER
The individual will lead a staff to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoicing, adjustment processing, contract fulfillment and analysis. Assist in overseeing the application of the accounts receivable computer systems ensuring appropriate audit trails and reporting to financial statements. Reconcile weekly, monthly and period end financial reports. Facilitates accounting and financial ramifications of system conversions. Establish and maintain policies and procedures that meet GAAP. Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of three years experience in accounting and/or accounts receivable. Specific newspaper industry knowledge preferred. Two years of supervisory experience is required. Must be proficient with a personal computer and have demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. A high level of proficiency in Excel is needed. Proficiency using database query tools such as Sequel or Showcase is highly desirable. Excellent organization, communication and decision-making skills are required. Must have ability to coordinate several tasks simultaneously within a fast-paced environment.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Responsible for performing all support functions for the Sales Director and providing additional administrative support for sales staff as needed. Will schedule meetings, answer internal and external inquiries, make travel arrangements, gather data for budget preparation and prepare statistical reports. Must have one year related secretarial experience and/or equivalent. Must be able to type 55 wpm and be proficient using a personal computer, with specific knowledge in Word and Excel. Must have excellent communication and organization skills, a high level of initiative, outstanding customer service orientation, exceptional judgmental skills and the ability to work well independently. The ability to coordinate several tasks simultaneously within a fast paced environment is required.
